Area of Operation

The area of operation for these vessels is the Moreton Bay Region, as far north as Comboyuro Point and South Bribie Island to as far south as the Gold Coast. The Vessel cannot exit the Moreton Bay region through any of the passages between the islands that have access to the Coral Sea. This area of operation will allow you to potentially see the marine life that lives in the bay. These can include Turtles, Dolphins, Dugongs, and in the winter months, Humpback Whales.

Do I Need a License For a Bareboat Hire (Self Skippered)

It is not a requirement for you to have a boat license to take the boat out. However, we will be asking questions about your boating background to ensure that you are capable of handling the vessel safely.

PLEASE NOTE: Hiring a self drive bareboat is no different from hiring a car. ie drug and alcohol levels and illegal behaviour will affect your insurance.

Where do we depart from

All charters normally depart from our Marina in Deagon.

(Other pickup locations can be organized please email or phone for more information)

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your charter prior to 30 days before your departure. You will be getting a refund of the total paid minus $300 admin fee

If you cancel the charter within 30 days for your departure, you will be eligible for a credit towards a future booking.

If we cancel the charter due to Weather, we will simply rebook you at a future date.

If the charter is unable to proceed due to COVID restrictions, you can either re-schedule/credit or you will be eligible for a refund of total money paid minus $300 admin fee.

Security Bond

As a condition of the boat owners insurance, we require a security bond to be lodged. This is processed as a pre-authorisation on a credit card. The pre-authorisation freezes the availability on your credit card and NO money is withdrawn from your account, however you do need to have this sum available in your account for the pre-authorisation to be possible. If the boat is damaged we will then withdraw the money from your account.
Please note: Your bank will cancel the pre-auth within 7-10 days depending who you bank with, on a no-claim basis.

The most you are liable for is $6000, which is the excess for insurance. (Normal insurance conditions apply)

Please note that the security bond is a condition of your charter and is not a type of travel insurance.
